Last year, because of the financial crisis that many of us are experiencing there was no Company Outing or any outing that we usually do every year.
I admit, ever since I was employed here I haven’t joined any Company Outing ever! This will be my first time for the record. This year, the Management decided not to be a company-wide outing but a departmental one.
Me, being an events organizer wanna-be volunteered to organize our Departmental Outing. It was always exciting for me to look for venues, negotiate with the marketing staff to give us discounts and all the details of the activity.
I always love to do that. Maybe because it excites me to know that there are budget friendly travels where we can enjoy without spending too much. Making the most out of my resources to get our tour as cost-effective as it can. Sometimes organizing a simple get together or activity for the day. I just want to have a productive and exciting day without spending too much.
I find it fulfilling to travel with friends without worrying that I might not eat after a vacation. Last year, I almost organized 4 vacation namely Cagayan de Oro-Camiguin adventure that cost us Php5000 (with airfare), Cebu adventure around Php4500 (with airfare), HongKong-Macau trip which is a little bit pricey and Legaspi-Donsol adventure. However Legaspi-Donsol was postponed due to weather conditions.
And for this year, my first organized outing is our Departmental Outing which will be held in Caliraya Resort in Lumban, Laguna on March 13, 2010. I also contact the transportation services that the resort recommended to us which is the Big J Tours and Travel. We will be renting a bus for this trip. I will be posting the complete activity after the outing.
Why Caliraya? Well, thinking of the budget and available dates this is the most feasible one. Other options are Donsol for whaleshark experience, Sagada for the cave connection, La Union for the surfing experience and more! Then I learned that you can have a lot of activities for team building purposes in Caliraya that’s why I suggested the place. According to the reviews I found, I think this is the best choice. I hope those reviews won’t disappoint us when we get there.
Events Organizing and planning can be very stressful especially if there are many antagonists to your plans. Fortunately, my friends were supportive enough that I don’t mind those people who are not cooperating with the activity.
For this outing, the last say will be the Management specifically the President who is our Department Manager too and the Vice President who will approve the budget for the outing. I am hoping that this outing will be a success! 🙂
