Theater 2016: Aladdin The Musical

It was the first Saturday of this month when we watched this Broadway’s New Musical Comedy, Aladdin! I’ve always loved Disney films and this is one of them. I’m looking forward to Beauty & The Beast too, but that’s another story.

This is the first musical show that “MKR Family” watched. It was a unanimous decision to watch this play and we booked it weeks after we heard that it was going to Sydney. We wanted to see the show during it’s first few weeks but tickets were sold out. Thus, it took us some time to book the tickets.

The show was in Capitol Theatre near Central Station. We got in just in time for the show. There was a long queue and the theatre was full. The show started with Genie’s voice over. Everyone was excited!

Last night was definitely “A Whole New World”!!! 😝😁 Amazing show!!! #AladdinAus #Disney #Souvenir

The effects, the songs, the orchestra, the dance and props, everything is spot on! Loved Genie’s impromptu punchlines. Everybody loved the Magic Carpet ride and I’m sure most of us wants to sing-along. Hehe.

After the show, we went to the Stage Door of the theatre and waited for the cast to come out. A friend of ours, Nicole told us that the one who portrayed Princess Jasmine is half Filipino and she’s following her in Instagram. She even knew that Princess Jasmine’s brother is in fact the one who portrayed Aladdin in the US. Cool, right? Since she bought the Souvenir Program, she was able to get signatures/autograph of the lead characters.

It’s really highly recommended! You can still grab tickets from Ticketmaster. Hurry, the tickets are selling fast.
