In less than a week’s time, it will be one of the grand celebrations in the world… Christmas Day! Everyone is so prepped up and excited for this season. A season of joy and love. It is really nice to celebrate it with family and friends.
What are you up to for this Christmas? As for our family tradition, we Filipinos have our midnight dinner with family called “Noche Buena” after our Christmas Eve mass. This is just the first activity we do in celebration of Christmas. After eating, we usually have a little “party” in our house. After a couple of hours, one by one, tiredness is felt so we’re off to bed by 3-4am. Hahaha!
The next day is the exciting part. We usually dress up for this occasion as this is where we gather together as a BIG family. Every year, we think of a “theme” for our outfits but not everyone agrees (usually only the girls comply). It’s a bit hard for me ‘coz I’m really not that stylish. I envy those who have a sense of style ‘coz I don’t. It is nice to read blogs about fashion since it gives you tips on what to wear. I recently found this interesting Ezra blog that gives me ideas and helpful insights on clothes and fashion trends. I like their Holiday Campaign 2013 as it looks elegant. I’ve been wanting to wear fancy clothes at times to see if it will suit me. Hahaha!
However, we prefer casual Xmas celebration. So I’m thinking of color blocking this year. There are good choices in Zalora that I can buy but boys would definitely disagree with me. They say that it’s frustrating for them to do such “style” so we decided to make it simple as Red and White. Hahahaha!
Going back to the routine, on Christmas day, we have our family lunch with relatives and extended families. After lunch time, we appoint one “Santa Claus” to distribute the gifts. I was the Santa last year! Hehe.
This year would be different though! I won’t be part of that “usual” tradition of ours. I’d definitely miss it but will do our tradition here in Sydney! So as of now, our schedule looks like this:
24 Dec 7pm – Evening Mass at St Mary’s Catholic Church
24 Dec 12am – Noche Buena with relatives and friends
25 Dec 4pm – Exchange gifts
25 Dec 6pm – Dinner
So it’s similar to what we do in the Philippines! Yay! So excited for CHRISTMAAAASSS!!!
How about you?
