Random Thoughts: Dishwashing

One of the hardest chore for me is washing the dishes. Why? Let’s enumerate some of the reasons here:

1. The grease in pans after frying is disgusting.
2. The left over food is yucky.
3. The smell of the food together is most of the time foul.
4. It can be very messy at times.
5. My hands are always left dry.

I used to wash the dishes all by hand. We never got a dishwasher back in the Philippines. However, when I moved here in Australia, a lot of the homes have a built-in dishwasher! Yehey for that! In all honestly, I don’t know how to use it. I remembered washing the dishes by hand the first time coz I don’t know how to operate it. I know it’s not that complicated but I don’t want to ruin all the plates. Hahaha!

I asked my cousin how to do it and it’s just simple. There are two kinds of soap, the tablet one and the powdered one. I’m not quite sure if you can use a liquid one but as far as our dishwasher is concerned, we only use those two options. It is important that you get a good detergent because you’re leaving all the dish washing to that machine. So after placing all the dishes and glasses inside, all you have to do is to put the tablet or powder in the soap holder and close. In just a press of a button, it will start and do everything for you. How convenient is that?! Say hello to softer hands after all. Hahaha!

After sometime, it’s not that noticeable that the dishwasher is already dirty. I think it is safe that every month, you want to get it cleaned. You need to get your dishwasher cleaner in your local grocery stores. I’m sure it will be available for your convenience.

I never had nightmares with dishwashers so far except for using too much detergent that made the glass looks cloudy and uncleaned. So I prefer the tablet compared to the powdered one. Well, it’s just me.
