It was 5pm, March 24, 2006 and I can hear the Graduates screaming and howling along the streets of the University Campus. They are in parade going to the field where the Baccalaureate Mass will be held. I was also excited though as if I’m part of the Celebration. But nevertheless, I am enjoying myself. Seeing my close friends, new found friends, familiar faces, acquaintances, classmates, and previous professors makes me ecstatic.
I guess it was more organized than last year. I really can’t tell because I was one of the thousands of graduating students sitting there excited and felt proud and overjoyed with what’s happening. By the way, this year they had 3 wide screens in the field.
During the celebration, I am roaming around to look for the graduates of my WYD Family. It was dark coz they were not turning the lights on until Fr. Rector told them so. However, there was some miscommunication that’s why the Main Bldg and the other lights were on even before the announcement of the Rector.
Overall, I was happy coz I know everyone is having a wonderful time especially during the display of fireworks! It was really something. Rumors say that the budget for that was like 80k. It lasted for about 5mins. I’ll try to link you to the video footage I got.
