The childhoods of Bernice (Vice Ganda) & Detty (Ai-Ai Delas Alas) were world’s apart, but they did have one thing in common: their father. Bernice’s birth was the result of an infidelity on his behalf, however, and so while Detty grew up with a wealthy family, Bernice and his mother were left to fend for themselves. —Wikipedia
As mentioned, we really wanted to watch Sisterakas for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry. Since it’s ending soon, I asked my team mate to accompany me in watching the film. Luckily they agreed.
In comparison to One More Try, the only drama involved was that of Ai-Ai’s family. All else was totally laughter. We were laughing out loud the entire show. Vice Ganda really had his game going. He was “unkabogable”! Hahaha!
I never thought he’d wear something skimpy. Hehe! All his outfit seems like he’s going to a fashion show. You can hear the crowd howling every time a surprising outfit was worn. The clothes that I can’t forget him wearing was the white long dress on his first appearance as an adult and the one that looks like a swimsuit. Hahaha! It was amazing of him to pull off those clothes.
On the other hand, Ai-Ai Delas Alas as always make people laugh and cry. She’s perfect for the role and was able to match up with Vice. Their humor may not be of the same level but they were both hilarious!
Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla just played the teenager love story. This I think made the movie more appealing as these young actors are the “IT” couple of the year. I bet some watched the movie just to see their love team and doesn’t even care about Vice and Ai-Ai. Hahaha!
Finally, Kris Aquino. I know this is unanimous. She’s a bit of an over acting actress this time. I know she knows how to act but comedy is really not her line. Maybe she can do it after some more workshops. Sorry but her acting in this movie is a bit annoying. The only time I appreciated her acting was during the kidnapping scene when she was confused of “James Yap”. Maybe if she just did her kikay tone that we usually hear on her TV Shows, it might have worked.
Nevertheless, it was a good film. A light movie where you can just watch and have fun.
