I first saw their trailer in one of my ipod apps. I installed the “Starmaker” app recommended by my aunt. She told me that her co-teachers were addicted to that app and were singing wildly during their free time. Being a frustrated singer, I tried it and enjoyed it as well. Try it, you’ll be addicted too like me.

Anyway, there is a category in the application for “Pitch Perfect” songs. The trailer is played everytime you sing a song in the app. I was intrigued and wanted to watch it the moment it hits the big screen. However, it was only shown in Robinsons Cinemas similar to Samurai X being shown only in SM Cinemas. It didn’t hit the charts so I guess it just stayed for a couple of days.

I’m always into musical plays and movies. My friends knows about that! I was looking for a copy of DVD but nobody seems to know the movie. So I moved on. Months passed and my colleague shared that she watched a cool movie and to my surprise, it was Pitch Perfect.

I hurriedly borrowed a copy from her and watched it the night I got the file. And boy, I totally love the movie to bits! Hahaha! Up until now, I still repeatedly play the movie when I’m bored.

The story line as well as their song mash-ups are amazing! I was also in awe with Anna Kendrick. I didn’t know she can sing. I looked her up in Google and found out that she was nominated for a Tony Award when she was just 12 years old. A broadway singer and an actress with super good looks! Perfect packaging!

I also liked Rebel Wilson and Skylar Astin. It was my first time to see them on screen. My cousin showed me interviews of Rebel Wilson in youtube and she’s one hilarious actress. She may be big in appearance but she totally can pull it off. Hahaha! Love her witty lines. 🙂

Skylar on the other hand is so admirable because of his good singing voice. His character as Jesse was perfect for him. I liked his love team with Beca. So cute!

Anyway, you better get a copy of this film. I watched this movie for more than 6x already. One good thing about watching it over again is you’ll be able to notice other scenes, gestures and understand the story better? Hahaha!

[SPOILER ALERT!] It was only on my 2nd viewing I noticed that the song she sang in the finals was also the OST of the “Breakfast Club” film they watched. And it was only on my 5th watch did I realized the reason why they lost in the Riff-Off. Hahaha!

If you’re a music lover like I do, you’ll love this! I can’t wait to watch Pitch Perfect 2!

Here’s a clip of the Riff-Off similar to Filipino’s “dugtungan” game:

Their OST is already on my ipod and I won’t mind playing it on Repeat the whole day. I wish they can produce more movies like this! I also don’t mind watching the movie over and over again. Gaah, is this what you call obsession or addiction? ha!

Have you been Pitch Slapped already?
