The other day, I was so disappointed because I thought I lost my pictures, since I remembered the application Recuva by Piriform, I was able to recover deleted images from my memory card. Now, Here’s the detailed version of last year’s alumni homecoming.
It started with a prayer by one of the faculty members and welcoming introduction by our all time favorite hosts: Aiza Pagkalinawan and Apple Recaña.
Our theme for the night was “X Marks the Spot”. It automatically makes one think of a treasure map that pirates use to look for some hidden gems. In this occasion, the hidden gem was Don Bosco School (DBS) where all FMA Past Pupils gather for a homecoming. As for me, I thought that “X” means the Roman numeral 10. As mentioned in my previous post, it was my 10th year last 2011 as a graduate of DBS Sta. Mesa. So it was pretty meaningful for me.
Anyway, a song number from the past pupils was next after that short introduction by the hosts.
After they rendered 2 songs, games followed. The famous “Pinoy Henyo” was played by different representatives of each FMA school. The cool part was when Sr. Cynthia and her classmate played and tried to guess the word “Crown”. She was really close to guessing it.
We got tired laughing so the FMA sisters performed and sang Christmas Carols for everyone. If I remembered it right, they sang 4 songs. (Sbe nila di pa sila nakapag-practice sa lagay na yan)
Since it’s getting late already, dinner comes next. It was a “bring your own food” for sharing. Good thing, our table had pizzas too and not only cakes. Other table had more food but we didn’t bother to ask some. Hahaha!
During dinner, a friend from Mary Help of Christians School (MHCS) in Canlubang came. It was nice seeing Ate Michee again after some time. We’re both Salesian Youth Movement leaders and we really had a great time doing our ministry way back. She brought with him her fiancé now her husband, Olan.
Right after dinner, an AVP of a past pupil from Holy Trinity Academy (HTA) who got ill and suffered because of her sickness gave an inspirational message. My school mate Kcat Yarza was also there that night and she narrated her story also with the help of an AVP. Her mom was there to read her message to everyone. Majority of us was inspired and admired her faith and courage as well as her positive outlook in life despite her physical condition.
To lighten up the mood, Ms. Beverly Salviejo sang a song and did a standup comedy stint that night. All of us were having fun as she brought us back to the 60s, 70s, 80s music during her performance.
Another school mate Marcelle Fabie, one batch higher than me had his own set of magic tricks for everyone. I even participated on one of his tricks.
As a finale, we had our last game of the night where they flashed young pictures of the sisters before they entered the convent. It was pleasant seeing majority amazed by the pictures. I don’t know much of them but we howled when Sr. Yolly’s young picture was flashed. Hehe.
It was a night of happy memories that is worthy to be shared. I do hope after 10 years again, I would be able to visit and remember all my childhood memories stored in that school. I am ever grateful of the values I’ve learned and all the things that they taught me to be a good Christian. I also hope that these virtues would be passed on to my next generations.
