“KaLui Restaurant – The most famoust and best value restaurant in Palawan!” – that’s their tagline which I definitely agree!
They have a native wood ambiance with colorful art decors and native stuffs. You can see shells, masks, water bins, paintings, fruits, flowers all over the place. It is one of the unique restaurants I’ve been to. We’re eating barefooted. How cool is that?
We went there during lunch time and since it’s not an airconditioned place, we’re expecting that we might be sweating while we’re eating but we’re not. The style of the restaurant makes the cool fresh air circulate the whole place. They have industrial fans that helps too. Every part of the restaurant has different style and art decor so I can’t help but roam around while waiting for our food.
We ordered the Kalui Special Day Set (Php 395) that includes almost all the must try food and it’s good for two. I think it can be good for 3 if you don’t eat that much. The set includes soup, prawns, fish, eggplant, tuna and seaweeds. The fruits inside a buko is also included for dessert.
It’s really a “must go” restaurant when you visit Puerto Princesa. Also, it is best if you make reservations ahead of time since they are always fully booked. Their operating hours is also limited. They open 11:00~2:00pm for Lunch and 6:00~11:00pm. I think they are closed on Sundays.
This was our finale for our Palawan Getaway 2010. We really had a great time in Palawan and will surely be back for more. We still need to see other sites like the Estrella Falls and the other islands in Honda Bay.
