Last weekend, we went to the Sydney Opera House to watch the concert of Lea Salonga. She’s a Filipina singer/actress known for her Broadway musical appearance in Miss Saigon, Les Miserables to name a few. She’s also the singing voice of Disney’s Princess Jasmine and Mulan.
It’s our first time to watch something in Sydney Opera House. I’ve been here for almost 4 years and I only get to see the lobby. It was the same sentiments with my friends! So we decided to search for interesting upcoming shows late last year. We saw that Lea Salonga will be performing so everyone agreed to watch.
We watched their last performance and it didn’t disappoint. It was really amazing! A world class performance both Lea and Gerard Salonga. They were with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and it was incredible.
I can’t find the right words to describe how amazing the orchestra was with Maestro Gerard Salonga and the unbelievable singing voice of Lea Salonga. If you’ve watched the show, you’d agree with me! I can still remember the orchestra flipping their song sheets and really focused on playing their part. Amazing how the Shaker, the Lyre, the Gong, and all those small instruments that I thought is not important did play a role in the orchestra. It’s really awesome!
We were lucky to be seated near the stage (Upper Box C) and we saw their incredible talents. I’m sure they’ve all worked hard for this and they sure did a great job!
We all had a great night!
She’s performing in Melbourne as well, so for those interested to see her, check if you can still get some tickets.
