Yummy Friday: Random Sydney Fast Food Chains & Restaurants

In a few days time, it would be my 2nd month in Sydney. Being here for more than a month now means I’ve eaten in some of their local restaurants and of course fast food chains already. Here are some of the restos and fast food chains that I’ve tried:

In Sydney CBD Area:
Toros Tapas & Bar
First fancy restaurant I tried since I got here. This was the first time I met Reg and we went to see Vivid Sydney. The salmon that I had tastes so good. The price was a bit steap though but pretty decent.

Cupcakes on Pitt
The cupcakes look good but doesn’t taste as good as it seems.

Menya Noodle Bar
Surprisingly, this Japanese restaurant can be found in some corner near Darling Harbor. It was Carding who brought me there on our first meet up. Great Japanese Ramen!

Hurricane’s Grill
You have to make reservations to be able to dine in on time. We waited for more than 30 minutes just to be served. This restaurant is so popular for their ribs! A cozy restaurant in Darling Harbour that has big servings so you can definitely share.

In North Sydney Area:
Rockin Rolls
A Sushi stall in Chatswood Westfield where you can buy a $2 Sushi Roll that is worth your money. I eat this for lunch sometimes!

Oporto
A fastfood chain similar to McDonalds. However instead of beef patties, they offer Chicken burgers.

Nando’s Flame Grilled Chicken
This is my favorite fastfood chain! Hahaha! This reminds me of Mang Inasal. A healthy alternative instead of McDo, Oporto and Hungry Jacks. Their chips are perfect!

Hungry Jacks
This is their version of Burger King. I’m not sure why they called in Hungry Jacks. If I remembered it right, it has something to do with legal rights or something.

Piatto Restaurant
A quaint restaurant in Blue’s Point. I ordered the Crispy Pork Belly and it was to die for. Hahaha! After the meal, I had a capuccino and it was one of the best coffees I’ve tasted so far. I never really liked capuccinos because of its bitter taste. This time, it isn’t as bitter as it used to be. Maybe because of the coffee beans or how the barista made it.

Sushiro
A sushi train near our place. It’s conveniently located at St Leonard’s station. They have a wide selection of sushi rolls but their rice for each roll is quite a lot. It was still good though.

Pizza Olla
A restaurant in Cammeray Shops. We had Italian pizza and some salad. It was okay, nothing special really.

Blue’s Point Gourmet Pizza
Another pizza place located in Blue’s Point. They have a wide range of pizza flavors and it’s a healthy alternative for Pizza Hut & Dominos.

Chocolateria San Churro
A common chocolate cafe shop in Australia. Their drinks are quite fine but I don’t like their churros. Hahaha! Their macarons are fine though.

Winsure BBQ Restaurant
An authentic Chinese restaurant in Chatswood. You can order Pecking Duck their and other Chinese food. Its tasty and yummy but I always think they use MSG. hahaha!

I Love Pho
An authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Crows Nest. We had lunch there coz there were lots of people eating. We were curious so we went it. True enough, their food was really flavorful. Loved everything we ate there!

If you like Asian Food, the food court in Mandarin Center in Chatswood is the place to be. You can get a bowlful of food for just $10. This is where we usually go if we crave for Asian cuisine.

In West Area:
Mitzu
This is located inside the Macquarie Center. It also happens to be the family’s favorite sushi train place.

Outback Steakhouse
It is somewhere in Strathfield I think. We ate there for my God-brother’s farewell dinner before leaving for the World Youth Day 2013 in Rio. I honestly didn’t like their steak. It’s not that tasty and the texture is not that good. However their Bloomin’ Onion and their dessert Trio Sampler was the bomb! hehehe. 🙂

I’ve also tried Easyway Milkteas which is very similar to what I usually have in the Philippines. The Ikea Restaurant is okay but I was too hungry that time and didn’t bother to take photos of what I ate.

So that’s it for now! Have a wonderful weekend. 🙂
