Merry Christmas from Mister Donut

We Filipinos start to think of Christmas as soon as the “ber” months arrive. Of all the nationality, I think that we are only ones who celebrate for more than a month. And that’s the reason why we all love being in the Philippines during the holidays. I for one had experienced celebrating Christmas in a foreign land. Yes, it’s nice and you’re with your family but it is really different when you’re in your own country. Iba talaga ang Paskong Pinoy! Maybe the environment makes it so unique as well as the joys you see in the faces of the people everywhere you go. My favorite holiday actually!

Well, Christmas as we all know means family together and of course majority of us (including me..) entails gifts! I can’t even remember what my first wish to Santa was. All I know that one of the best things to do during Christmas is exchanging gifts. May it be food or toy, a dress or a shoe, anything big or small, as long as we get to give something and receive this season.

I’m sure not all of you know that I give gifts not only for the sake of giving. As much as possible, I make sure that I give something with a personal touch. My friends know that and I’m proud of it. It’s a bit tedious actually but giving something that you know you have thought of makes it special even if it’s just a piece of candy. Right?

The challenge every year is to give something different from what you gave them last year. And that my friends, is very hard! Not to mention that this year, I’m kinda out of budget for Christmas shopping. I’ve been unemployed since June of this year and will be starting my new job by mid December! I’ve been struggling not to buy things that I want and save for the important ones since I’m in a limited supply of cash.  However, believe it or not, even with a tight budget I can’t help but check out a number of Christmas items as gifts for the holidays. Surprisingly, I think Mister Donut heard my cry. Hahaha! They are launching a few holiday treats that is easy on the pocket this Saturday (November 19, 2011). They have a special offer conceptualized only this year and called it Merrygalos! (May smile sa bawat kagat, may regalo para sa lahat!)

Merrygalos intends to bring smiles and a variety of gift options to those with Santa duties this holiday (that’s me!) and you reading this. This collection holds your favorite Mister Donut treats, jazzed up in time for the holidays.

I really don’t like Bavarian donuts; you can even ask my family about that. However, after tasting the Merry Bavarian Frost, I take back my word. If it’s from Mister Donut, I’ll definitely wanna have a bite! That’s how delicious it tastes!

Mister Donut has surely made this year’s holiday rush easier with Merrygalos! Who wouldn’t smile if you’re given something sweet and yummy?

The question is how to make these delectable treats more special?

I’ve been thinking of ways how to give these wonderful treats a personal touch. And I’ve come up with these ideas:

As a gift:

A simple basket decorated with love and a Christmas tree tin can inside of it. The tin can itself is already presentable so just add a little artsy on the side.

As a party snack:

Christmas parties are everywhere these days so what to bring is quite a problem. With Mister Donut’s Belgian Bites and Merry Bavarian Frost, you can style a bit like a goblet of Belgian bites with Merry Bavarian frost on the side would be great.

Another thing would be Belgian bites lollies! Since we want to party and chit chat with friends, the lollies would certainly be a hit. They’ll just get one or two and enjoy the rest of the time with whoever they are with.

As a centerpiece:

Now this one is my favorite! Who wants to have a donut party?! ME!!! Hahaha! I’ve thought of making a Merry Bavarian Frost and Belgian Bites Christmas Tree! Isn’t it grand? I’d love to have one on Christmas Day and I’m sure kids and young at heart would enjoy and love every donut from the tree!

Luckily, my designs were appreciated by my mom’s friends who had their Bible study at home! They were the chosen few who have tasted these donuts before it was officially launched.

Look at their smiles, aren’t they satisfied? They ate the donuts even before the soup! They can’t stop raving about these donuts specifically the Belgian bites. I told them to buy one as soon as these products are launched in the market which is on Saturday, November 19, 2011.
