Are you a fan of Musical Plays? Put your hands up in the air!!!! Hahaha! ^_^
I love musical shows may it be on TV, Movies and of course in Theater. I’m not sure how I grew up liking those kind of shows but the first Musical I can remember that I enjoyed was the Disney on Ice way back in 90’s in Araneta Center Cubao. I think they still have Disney on Ice until now but I only get to see it once or twice I think. Maybe that’s the reason why I LOVE Disney! My close friends knew about that!
I’ve got a number of films I don’t get tired of watching such as Beauty and the Beast, Alladin, Little Mermaid, Snow White, Cinderella, Prince of Egypt, The Lion King and my favorite, Anastasia! I’ve got my own share of theater story (yes I was a part of a musical play) that I’ll share later on… hhmm.. maybe next time! Hahaha!
When I was in College, my friends and I usually go on a date and watch theater plays by Repertory Philippines in OnStage in Greenbelt. I’ve even watched Miss Saigon, Cinderella and Peter Pan in CCP too. However, after graduation, when I got busy with work and other stuff, I/we didn’t get to enjoy theater plays anymore. Honestly, I miss watching musical plays and I miss bonding with my “sisters“.
Recently, I’ve been wanting to watch the play The Sound of Music in Resorts World Manila. Since I’m still unemployed, I don’t know where to get the money to buy tickets. (Well, that made me remember that I have my Nuffnang credits ready to be cashed out! haha!) My friends already watched it and they recommend it and even saw Aga’s daughter Atasha Muhlach performed! I want!!! I still have almost a month to watch this since it is until December 11, 2011.
This week, November 18, 2011 to be exact, another theater play will be available to us in Meralco Theater. It’s one of the best Disney films of all time, The Little Mermaid starring our very own Rachel Ann Go. Come to think of it, how grand would the set be? Would there be real water in the theater? That’ll be cool. Similar to Bangkok’s Siam Niramit if they can produce rain effects/water effects during the show. This again will last until December 11, 2011.
Well, it’s not finished yet. Early next year, another favorite classic, an all time smash hit musical Mamma Mia! will be in the Philippines for their International Tour! How grand is that?! I believe you can already buy tickets online if you wish to do so. This musical will run from January 24 to February 5, 2012.
So, what’s your pick? Do you like Musical Plays like me? Maybe you can share and recommend some to me!
