I love Japanese food, mostly influenced by my business trips in Japan. I’ve tasted authentic Japanese cuisines and I want to try the restaurants they built in the Philippines that somehow resembles the “original” taste.
I’ve been reading a lot of good feedbacks on “Urameshiya” located in Little Tokyo. We’ve been here before but failed to try there since we went at midday and the store opens at 5:00pm and ends til 3:00am the next day.
On the day I processed my Australian Visa, I get to go to Makati and went to Andrew’s new workplace at 4:oopm. We decided to try Urameshiya since we’re already in the vicinity and we didn’t have any plans that night.
Truly, it was such a great place. The ambiance is far more better that the last restaurant we tried there. It was so japanese! The waitresses even speaks nihongo! So cool.
We ordered a Omakase Set Menu, whose main dish is mostly pork and claims to be good for 2 persons but actually it can be for 4 with some extra rice is good to go. I also ordered a miso ramen since we wanted to have some soup that night and of course my favorite, the edamame.
After we ate, we went to the japanese grocery store inside “Little Tokyo” for some dessert. I always loved their wafer ice cream. It is similar to Dairy Queen’s Sandwich Bar but this one’s a wafer not a cookie. Luckily, we found it in their not so organized ice cream freezer.
Our craving for Japanese food was satisfied that night. The next time we’ll miss Japan, we can just go back to Little Tokyo and we’ll definitely feel we’re back there enjoying their food and culture.
