My 26th Birthday in LAYA Restaurant

I celebrated my 26th birthday almost 2 months ago with my dearest Andrew in LAYA Personal Dining Restaurant. It was always my wish to go there but can’t find the right timing to visit the place.

It is just near our place so it is not hard to locate since we’re a bit familiar with the area. We went there after work hours. Our reservation was at 6.30pm but we arrived around 8pm. We went to Rosario Church first to attend mass at 6pm-7pm. We went straight to the restaurant afterwards.

Luckily, the traffic is not that heavy compared to other days of the week. It’s pretty decent thinking that it’s a Friday. It was a smooth sailing drive until we reached Sierra Madre subdivision. It’s a bit spooky since the village have lots of big trees and less road lights. We didn’t got lost so we’re just in time when Irene followed up Andrew’s reservation.

Since they are serving 2 different menu for the night, Andrew decided to take the Signatures and then I take the Favorites. It was a unique experience for us since we both tasted different cuisines that night.

Menu for the night

To start off, we were given something to open our taste palettes to appreciate the food more. The waiter was watching us when we were discussing how to eat it. So to save us from embarassment, we just asked how to eat the dish.

Then I made a table of the menu that was served that night. Everything was EXCELLENT except for the Rocket Salad I had. When asked by Irene and Chef Ricci, they told me that it was an acquired taste. Maybe so, that’s why it was placed in the “favorites” menu. I’ll better have it the next time around and see if it taste better. ^_^
