I saw the pictures of Canyon Cove in the internet and I like how it looked. I also knew that movies such as Desparadas and the TV show ISLA was taken there.
Intrigued how the resort really looked like, we searched for Canyon Cove accommodations. Luckily, my friend Reg Roque went there last March I think so I just asked the contact number where they stayed. I saw the multiply site of the doctors who are renting their units in Canyon Cove. So we booked for an overnight stay in a studio unit since we’re only 6 (though it says in the website that it can only accommodate 4, it is still quite spacious for 4 and we just brought sleeping bags in case).
For our transportation, I rented the Innova from my officemate’s starting business. We availed for an all-in (gas, driver, toll) package so that we won’t be stressing ourselves with those. All we have to do is to provide food for the driver. That’s okay for us since we can cook in the condo unit we rented. Good thing Mang Ben (the driver) is kind and talkative. Also, he doesn’t eat a lot so you won’t be worrying about his food.
It was a 4 hour drive going to Nasugbu Batangas. It was a bit traffic that time. We arrived around 11am in the resort. We told the guards that we are staying in Dra. Jimenez’ condo unit and Kuya Mundo will give us the keys. We stayed in Apartment 14 Unit 204. It’s a studio unit and is good for 2-4 persons but as I’ve said, we’re 6 and we managed to fit in.
We stayed in the building that was not finished and I think it was the only room in the building that is completed. Though we already know that it’s located in the unfinished building, we never thought that the room is dirty. The comfort room picture in the internet is different in the actual comfort room. It’s a bit creepy too inside.
I don’t know if Dra. Jimenez know about this but they should be giving attention to those details. The rice cooker is also busted but fortunately, there was a gas stove inside. The refrigerator smells bad and the rooms is quite filthy. We just borrowed a broom to clean the unit. The air conditioner works fine though and the water is okay.
We had our lunch then we rested for a while before going down the pool area/beach area.
The beach area closes at 6pm so we only had 1.5hrs of swimming there. We didn’t attempt to take a dip in the pool since there were lots of kids swimming there. You can also smell the chlorine by just standing in the gutter area. The pool closes at 9pm.
We managed to have fun before heading back to our place to rest and eat dinner.
The next day, after eating our breakfast we just swam a bit then we checked out and gave Mang Mundo the keys. By the way, the condo unit is a bit far from the pool area. So we didn’t bother to stay late there because it’s kinda creepy going back to our place. We were joking that we’re like in Corregidor with all the ruins!
We had fun even if the rain are pouring already. What can we expect, June is the start of the rainy season in the Philippines!
