Arrived at Naga Terminal at 6:00am, we looked for a Van going to Sabang Port. However, we can’t seem to find one in the area so we just rode a jeepney to Sabang Port.
It was a looooonnggg 2-hour ride from the Terminal to Sabang Port. Later then we learned that it will only take us 1 hour if we rode a van. Upon arriving in Sabang Port, lots of porters are already volunteering themselves to carry us to the boat.
The boat ride is approximately 2 hours. In some cases like that of ours, you can get wet inside the boat because of the splash of the waves when it hits the boat. Sometimes, it’s not the case though. Maybe we’re just too lucky to experience that.
As we arrive Guijalo Port, Caramoan, we saw small boats paddling towards us. I was wondering if we are going to ride the small boat in order to reach the land. And yes, the boatman said that it’s low tide that’s why the big boat can’t go near the land to extend the ladder. So again, we have no choice but to go down the big boat and ride the small boat.
After that long ride with different forms of vehicle from bus -> jeepney -> big boat -> small boat, we are all very tired and exhausted. I’m already like “Dorry” who always ask “Are we there yet?”.
When all of us are already on land, our guide met us and welcomed us with their jeepney! I assumed that our homestay will be nearby and will only take us 15mins to reach the place. Too bad I was wrong. It’s approximately 45mins to an hour before reaching our homestay. The guide bragged about the location that we will be staying on a beach front that’s why it’s quite far. We are too restless to react so we just agreed to what he was saying.
Since it’s almost lunch time, we ate in a carinderia “Lutong Bahay” along the way. We had the usual food like porkchop adobo, menudo and ginataang sitaw. All approximately Php40-50 per dish. It was funny no one was talking while we were eating. Our hunger was so obvious! :p
Then we went back to the jeepney so that we can settle down and arrange our things and start our “caramoan adventure”. We arrived in our homestay around 1pm and unpack some of our things and settled down after our long 15 hour travel from Manila to Caramoan.
