Congratulations to Michelle Abalos for graduating Med School from Post Grad Internship!
Last Friday, Andrew’s sister graduated from being a Medicine Student of UERM. Being a loving brother, he wanted to treat his sister for her wonderful milestone. Together with all his sisters, we decided to go to Eastwood to eat dinner and play bowling. ๐
We were in Eastwood around 7:00pm. We went to Paeng’s Bowling but unfortunately there was a tournament and will finish by 10:30pm. It was only then that I knew that the bowling area closes at 2:00am! Since it’s early, we decided to roam around and will just eat dinner first.
Mitch is having a “ramen” craving so we were looking for a Japanese restaurant. When I asked the information center, she told me that they only have Teriyaki Boy and Mr. Kurosawa restaurant. I wonder why she didn’t include Pepper Steak house. That’s a japanese restaurant, right? Anyways, since we already tried Teriyaki Boy, we went to Mr. Kurosawa. It was a Euro-Japanese cuisine, similar to John & Yoko in Greenbelt 5. The signage also says “from the makers of Sumo Sam”.
We were assisted by waitresses wearing a mini-skirts then black stockings and boots. Their names are also in Japanese! I asked them if that was her real name but she told me that their name tags are Japanese cities and places in Japan. I asked where Osaka was and she said that Osaka will be there later.
I don’t know if that sounds cool or not. Those name tags are for their names, right? How should people address them during their stay in the restaurant? Are they okay with customers calling them in other names? Oh well, I don’t want to stress over that.
Anyway, we ordered Nebayaki Udon (Php 318) for Mitch’s cravings. It was tasty and we liked it. Somewhat comparable with the original taste of Japanese udon.
I am a big fan of Edamame (Php 188) so we ordered it too.ย These are salt-boiled green soybeans. If you ever tasted the chips “Pods”, this is the beans on the design of the wrapper. It tastes like peanuts. Very yummy! I ate this for dinner when I was in Japan for Business Trip. A must try for everyone. This one is healthy too!
Then for our main course, we ordered Superstar (Php 1388). A platter good for four. It consists of sushi, sashimi, prawns, oysters, yakitori and rice. I think it can be good for 3 to 6 persons. It was so many and people were staring at us when the platter was served. We were shocked too. We are almost full because of the soup and the drinks.
I liked the rice and the california maki. The sashimi is okay but the slices are quite thick. The prawns are okay but the yakitori are quite salty. As I’ve said, the rice was good. You can just order rice and one dish and you’re solved. At least we learned our lesson. We should not order a platter if we’re not that hungry or else we won’t be able to finish it.
Their iced teas are great! They have 3 colored iced teas with different flavors. They have Green for lime, Red for calamansi and Blue for dalandan. Andrew and I liked the dalandan but his sisters liked the lime. The calamansi is not that good that’s why Andrew changed it to dalandan afterwards.
We were supposed to eat dessert but we were so full that time so we decided to window shop to buy some time. It was only 9pm by then. We are to wait 1.5hrs more to have a slot in the bowling area.
When we reached the top level of the mall, we saw Timezone! We all have one thing in mind.. it’s arcade time!
Luckily I always bring my timezone card. So we loaded Php 250 because it will be equivalent to 350 load. We started playing with me and Andrew in a car race.
Then we spent a lot of time in Daytona Racing cars since it is a 3-seater game. The loser will be replaced after the first game. I won the first game playing with his sisters. His youngest sister lost the game so she was replaced by Andrew. Well, he won the second game.
Next, Michelle and I played the fireman’s game, Brave Firefighters. We were having fun since we’re wearing a fire equipment with nozzle and button. We had 2 rounds for that! Hahaha. ๐
The big basketball game for 4 was unavailable so we opted to play the medium sized one. Overall, Andrew won the game based on the scores we had.
Finally, we played the one with the big screen and you have to throw small balls to kill the villains. I forgot what game it is but weย were all playing that game. We finished our load for that game. We don’t have a picture for that since all of us are playing.
It was already 10:45pm when we finished playing arcade. We went to play bowling after that. We were just in time for bowling because there was only 2 lanes available. It was my first time to play bowling with disco lights. It was nice since the lines of the bowling lanes has glow in the dark lights and even the bowling balls are glowing!
We were having so much fine and I had a good play that night. We had 2 games which cost us Php 1000 (Php 125/pax – 1 game) for the game excluding the shoe rental at Php 30 each. First game, Me and Andrew won then second game, Me and Cris won! I told you I had a good play that night. :p
We finished around 12.30am and our arms are somewhat aching. We all had a great time. My last gimmick with friends that ends up until the wee hours in the morning was early last year. It’s quite tiring but we had so much fun! We’ll definitely do that again maybe after Mitch’s board exam.
