We had a great time last Saturday (2010-03-13) in Caliraya Recreation Resort in Lumban Laguna. Thanks for ASD for being cooperative and making the activity a success! Here are the details of our trip. 🙂
Our meeting places were in Ortigas infront of Tektite then Magallanes Shell station then Filinvest Mall in Alabang.
I arrived in Ortigas at around 5.25 in the morning. I thought I’ll be the first one to arrive there but I was wrong. Lorraine and Joey was already there and even Raymond and his girlfriend was already there. The bus was already there though I was a little bit disappointed because it was not the bus that I was expecting. They showed me a different picture, similar to the picture below but unfortunately it was not like that. Nevertheless, we still had a great time and they were kind to their customers.
Expected Tourist Bus
Tourist Bus that we used
One by one they are arriving but unfortunately, some didn’t come. So we end up less than what we expected. We left Ortigas at 6.15am, 15min late from our expected departure but we arrived on time in Magallanes. We waited for around 5-10mins and then went to Alabang for our final stop. We arrived on time, 7am in Alabang then waited for 5-10mins too for others to come. Since we have to leave Manila as early as possible, some of the expected participants just commuted their way to Caliraya.
We stopped in one Shell station on our way to Laguna and surprisingly we saw Sir B waiting there too. We are expecting 2 private cars in this outing. Sir Rc, on the other car is still on their way to SLEX. It was roughly 3-4hr ride going to Laguna.
We arrived in Caliraya at 10.30am together with the 2 private cars. After the registration, we just placed our bags inside the cottages then go straight to our Team building activity since our schedule is 10am. We are already 30mins late.

Our facilitator for the day is Caleb, the long lost brother of Bill (joke!). We had 5 games for the day and we all finished that in time for Lunch time. Here are the activities we had:
We had 2 teams for this activity, the WINNERS group and the LOSERS group. I belong to the WINNERS group. :p
1. Caterpillar Walk – the group will walk on top of the log from the start to the finish line.
Winner: Losers Group
2. Porthole – the group must cross from one side of the porthole to the other without touching the porthole. The group must create a plan that takes participant’s physical ability and size to life, pass, and sport participants in order to get them through.
Winner: Losers Group
<< after this activity, we ruled all the games! sbe nga nila, sa umpisa talo lagi ang bida. hehe. >>
3. Golf ball Transfer – the group must transfer a golf ball from one point to another using only half PVC pipe. Each member carries one PVC pipe.
Winner: Winners Group
4. Earth ball Challenge – only two teams are allowed to compete with each other. Each team must have a minimum of 10 persons and maximum of 15 persons. The facilitator will toss a coin whether who will serve first. This is like a volleyball game only without outside line. The team must toss it across the net to be able for the other team to reach it. Once the ball touches the ground, it will mean 1 point for the other team. The team who scores 3 points win.
Winner: Winners Group
5. Canoe Race – teams will ride a canoe and paddle going to and from the starting line to the finish line.
Winner: Winners Group
Oh well, what can I say.. our team won! hahaha! We all had a great time and we are all starving to death. So right after the activity, we all went to the dining are to eat lunch. Good thing our lunch is buffet type so we can eat all we want. 🙂 Too bad for us though (Andrew and Me) since it’s Lent, our sacrifice is not to eat meat except for chicken. So we only ate chicken and vegetables.
After lunch, we had our team building activity interpretation. The facilitator told us the significance of what we did during the activity. After that, we had our free time.
Some of us rested first and some went swimming right after the activity. There are lots of activities you can do there. We started around 3.30pm because the sun is too high after lunch. Around 25 people tried the Fly Pinoy, their version of zipline then some rented bikes to roam around the vicinity then I tried the Bungee Fun. However those activities are not included in our DayTour package, we have to register again to avail for the rides and activities. The free activity was the Slide Pinoy which we enjoyed too and the Mudslide that I didn’t dare to try. But Sarah, Kerie and Irish tried it and I’m pretty sure they enjoyed it. Hahaha. 🙂

I personally enjoyed the Bungee Fun! It was my dream to try one when I went to Japan and in Hongkong. Unfortunately, they won’t allow me since it’s just for kids and there was a weight limit. Good thing here in Caliraya, it was like a dream come true. Hahaha! I did double turns too, but I don’t have videos for that only pictures. It’s a nice feeling when you’re up there, but at first it’s kinda scary. But after a while, you’ll enjoy it especially if you tried turning yourself on air.
After that we went swimming for a while then started to pack things up. We left the Resort around 6.30pm then we just had our dinner on the way. Then we arrived in Ortigas around 10.30pm. It was a day full of laughter and clean fun! I believe everyone had a great time especially playing the monsterball. hehe. 🙂
