Last 17th of July 2015 was the launch of Nuffnang Sydney. The Nuffnang headquarters is in Melbourne and I always envy blogger events since I follow them in social media. I so wanted to be “active” in the community again as it is my outlet to unleash my social animal side.
Here’s a quick recap of what happened…
Around 6pm last night, I was already in the area but I’m shy to go upstairs to mingle. Maybe because it’s my first time to see bloggers in Australia! I’m excited to know them but I also got butterflies in my stomach. Well, mixed emotions. So to buy time I took some photos of the Harbour bridge and just enjoyed the scenery.
Around a quarter past 6, I decided to get upstairs and see what’s happening. The ECQ Bar is located at the 3rd floor and Q-Dining is at the 2nd. When I got to 2nd floor, I went to the washroom to buy some time again. I am prepping myself if I’m up for this. I wanted this really but I’m nervous. It’s as if I’m going to Uni for the first time. I do love the washroom and the lighting as well. I can’t help but take a selfie. Pardon me, I’m just making myself comfortable that night.
As I got to 3rd floor, a big backdrop of Nuffnang is there and the tablet shows it’s the Nuffnang Office launch. So I’m in the right place. I got in but I don’t know what to do. I got myself a glass of red to keep me company and sat by myself.
After some time, I feel like I made a wrong decision going there. I actually don’t know where to start. I tried looking around and took some photos but everybody seems so busy. I went out and gone to the washroom again and re-think if I’ll go ahead or stay.
I went back inside and people starts coming. They are starting to serve food and drinks. I took a deep breath and approached a group of ladies near where I’m sitting. So there, I had a group. They were a from Write Away Communications + Events company. It was a nice chat and girl talk. I said to myself… finally! However, that didn’t last that long. After Felicity Grey, Managing Director of Nuffnang Australia welcomed us and said her speech, they went home already. So I was left alone again.
I went out and get back again and see if I can connect to anyone. I went to the bar, got a glass of white, and just walked around… and suddenly, a stunning lady caught my attention. I can’t help but say Hi and compliment her. She was Amber Renae, a celebrity stylist. No wonder she looks amazing. Don’t get me wrong, everyone looks marvelous that night but she was standing out. I wasn’t able to take a photo of her dress but I did took a selfie with her. After our small chat, I was able to connect with other bloggers already. I saw a group of moms who are having fun so I joined them! I was happy to meet them and most of them are from Sydney. I got to know the videographer, Babi and her partner Millie as the interviewer. I got to see talents of Bloggerati Australia. They are definitely a bunch of awesome people! I was glad I stayed and get to know them.

Oh, by the way. I was researching about Bloggerati and I feel that I said something wrong that night. I was too excited and I got to mix up Glitterati and Bloggerati. It dawned on me when Debs of Learn With Play at Home told me that being part of Nuffnang community is different from Bloggerati. I told them I was part of Bloggerati Philippines but I take it back. It’s embarrassing. Sincere apologies for any harm done or misleading anyone but it was really an honest mistake. I am NOT a Bloggerati (but hopefully someday I’ll be) but I’m a proud Nuffnang Glitterati.
I really had a great night! I’m looking forward to be part of these kinds of events in the future. Time to meet new friends and network! Woohooo!!! Blogging rocks! Cheers, Nuffnang!
