Move to the Vibe of Glorietta is an event to give everyone a “teaser” on the reopening of the New Glorietta. The event was held at the Palm Drive near Park Square 1.

I was hesitant at first since I might be out of place with all the fashion bloggers and other fashionistas who will be there. However, given this rare opportunity to witness something grand appealed to me so I said go!

I was there around 6.30pm since I came from work in Eastwood. Good thing the event haven’t started yet. I was instructed to be at the Green gate since our ticket color was green and says “Left side facing the stage”.

Seat Stub

I was seated with a bunch of bloggers whom I met some weeks ago. It was a bit far from the stage but still had a good view.

Minutes before the event officially started, I was invited to sit in the white area where I can have a closer view of the models. I was alone there but I had fun watching the models stride on a closer view.

Hosts: Billy Crawford & Bianca Gonzales

The event was hosted by Bianca Gonzales and Billy Crawford. The main objective of this event is not only to showcase the newly built Glorietta mall but to set a new world record of number of people walking on a catwalk.

Ayala Land’s President, Mr. Tony Aquino

The President of Ayala Land, Mr. Tony Aquino had his welcome speech and invites everyone to feel and experience the new Glorietta.

Since we’re trying to set a new world record, Ms. Kirstie Bennett, a representative from the Guinness’ World Records was there to be the judge.

Guinness World Record Representative, Ms. Kirstie Bennett

According to her, the former record holder was Istanbul, Turkey with 1,967 models on a catwalk. There are also guidelines in setting the new record. The “models” need to be someone who walks in confidence, with a correct distance to the next model and walks in the beat of the music. If she thinks a model doesn’t qualify, she needs to deduct it to the total number. She wishes the Philippines the best of luck!

Without further adiue, the show started and each of the 5 catwalks were targeted to have 500 people to walk at the same time.

I was thinking of model-looking like 5’6″ and above in height but I was wrong. I can’t remember Mr. Kirstie saying about the height and all. She just mentioned about the walk and the beat.

A number of brands participated to showcase their clothes. Most of them are from merchants that can be found in the Glorietta mall. So if you want a style worn by the models, you can buy it at once inside the mall.

Maricar De Mesa for Parfois
Sam Milby for Folded & Hung

There were famous stars who joined the event and walked on the catwalk. Some of them were Maricar De Mesa, Sam Milby, The Company, Denise Laurel, Divine Lee, Victor Basa, Geneva Cruz, Bianca Gonzales, Chris Lawrence and many more.

Also, fashion bloggers were recognized that night and had their time to ramp on the catwalk. I actually don’t know them all but I recognized Vern Enciso of A Shoe Tale since she walked on the catwalk nearest to me. The beauty bloggers I know like Dior, Shen, Martha, Krissy and Jheng also modeled for Ferretti Shoes. However, their catwalk was on the left side of the stage and I was positioned on the right side. Still, I can see how they project and stride on the catwalk! Good job! 🙂

In between the show, International sensation – Kyle Patrick entertained everyone with his songs. While he was singing, the next batch of models were out to continue the show.

The model count flashes on the screen when we reach a significant number. It first flashed when we reached 1,000 then 1,500 and then 1,700 and so on. The small screens that you see on the lower part is the counter of models who ramp on that particular catwalk.

To our surprise, I, together with some of the bloggers were also invited to walk on the catwalk. We were surprised but excited to walk and do what models do even if it’ll only last less than a minute. Hahaha! We don’t know if someone took a photo when we walked but it was really a funny and amazing experience for us! We were part of the history! hahahaha. ^_^

After all the models finished walking, it’s judgement time. Everyone was confident that we will set a new record but it we still have to wait for the official announcements.

While waiting for the official count, Bamboo performed and girls were screaming like crazy. Hahaha!

And then the moment has arrived, Ms. Kirstie Bennett has gone up to the stage together with Don Ayala de Zobel and all distinguished guests.

Ms. Kirstie Bennett giving the official final count

She said that she has disqualified 47 people who didn’t make it to the standards (I hope I’m not one of them.. hahaha!) and proudly announced that the Philippines garnered a total of 2,255 models walking on a catwalk.

Philippines: 2,255 – New Guinness World Record

With that alone, confetti started to pop out everywhere and everyone were clapping and screaming and hauling with such pride and excitement.

Congratulations Philippines for setting a Guinness World Record for the most number of people walking on a catwalk!
