A week ago, I got an invite from Tokyo Tokyo for the launching of their new product, the Tokyo Tokyo Burger. I received a unique invitation by mail. It was so Japanice! Hehe. 😉

We are requested to wear Japanese inspired clothing as their will be prizes up for grabs from Muji. Since I came from work, I just wore an Obi belt.
Anyway, I arrived a couple minutes late but the program hasn’t started yet. As I went up to Tokyo Tokyo’s 2nd floor I heard a familiar voice for the host. And yes, it was confirmed. It was Gino Quillamor of RX93.1 The Morning Rush.

I volunteered to make an American sushi with the help of Tokyo Tokyo’s chef. I never ordered an American sushi before so it was new to me. Its core ingredient was the cream cheese and spam! Yes, you read it right… SPAM! I always love spam ever since my childhood days.

So the first step was to spread the Japanese rice in a Nori wrap and then reverse it. Then put a horizontal mayonnaise then cream cheese over it and finally the spam right next to it. The next step was to roll it gently to make a perfect sushi roll. Afterwards, a candy colored pop rice was sprinkled to the roll for a pleasant finish. Then it was cut it 8 equal pieces and it’s done!

After the sushi making activity, the main program was started. The manager introduced and gave us a background of Tokyo Tokyo and then finally showed us their new products, the Tokyo Tokyo burger or in Japanese “ba-ga”. Hehe!

The most awaited part has arrived, the tasting of the burgerssss. Hahaha! We all had a taste of each burger except for the Godzilla burger that has 2 patties in it.
First: Shogun Burger
“Shogun literally means commander in chief, and our Shogun Burger definitely commands your appetite with its crunchy onion rings, and premium beef patty with savory Tonkatsu sauce”

Second: Shiitake Mushroom Burger
“Shiitake mushroom has been a well known classic delicacy in Asia for centuries, and we made it even better with this delectable Shiitake Mushroom Burger with Teriyaki sauce and shiitake mushrooms.”

Lastly: Godzilla Burger
“For those with double the appetite for delicious food, we created the Godzilla Burger! An irresistible double premium beef burger patties with zesty Japanese mayo, and slices of cheddar cheese.”

I didn’t finish everything; I took home almost all the burgers because I just ate 2 bite for each variant.

The next exciting part was when the endorser of the “ba-ga” arrived. If you have no idea who he is, well he’s just the cutest Brapanese in the Philippines who is apparently the real life beau of actress Heart Evangelista. He is none other than Daniel Matsunaga. Of course, we all had a chance to take a picture with him.

Well, I also took a picture with Gino with his “model” look daw. Hahaha! :p

I believe that Daniel Matsunaga’s Tokyo Tokyo Burger commercial is already aired. Have you seen it?
The event finished with the awarding of the best dressed bloggers. As you can see, they really deserve to win. Congrats guys! ^_^

It was an educational and yummy night. Hihihi!
The burgers are already available in all Tokyo Tokyo branches nationwide.
