Skin Problem Solved

These past few months, I’m having problems with my skin. I’m not sure if the products I’m using suddenly doesn’t work for me. For whatever reason, I went to the Dermatologist.

I’ve been to 3 dermatologists but only the last derma explained it to me in detail. However, I still can’t grasp the technical terms she used but basically it’s like an allergy that is hereditary. I’ve been using 3 topical creams for my face but none of them worked. Well, the last derma advised me to put Hydrocortisone to affected areas. It’s the same cream that the first dermatologist recommended but it didn’t work. The difference was this time, the last dermatologist gave me a list of things to buy with vitamins and supplements too.

Skin Problem: Dry Flaky skin around the mouth area, near the nose, corners of the eye and temple areas.
Diagnosis: Skin Allergy due to either dust, heat and pollution.

Here’s the treatment the dermatologist recommended:
1. Use an extra sensitive soap for the face. At first I was using Dove Extra Sensitive Soap but now since I’m desperate, I bought Cetaphil for my cleanser.

2. She recommended a moisture rich moisturizer for the face since I’m really having a SUPER dry skin. She told me that signs of aging will appear earlier than normal because of the dryness of skin. So I went to VMV and asked for their moisturizer for Dry Skin: Creammmmy-Rich Intensive Moisture Milk for Dry Skin. I feel that it’s a bit pricey but since I really want to cure my skin, I decided to invest my money and buy me some of their products. I’ve tried their make up products before but eventually stopped using them since they changed their packaging. I can’t afford to use it regularly so I switched brands.

3. Again, the dermatologist told me to put Hydrocortisone cream in the affected areas of the face after putting the moisturizer.
Hydrocortisone may be prescribed by your doctor to relieve the itching, redness, dryness, crusting, scaling, inflammation, and discomfort of various skin conditions; the inflammation of ulcerative colitis or proctitis; or the swelling and discomfort of hemorrhoids and other rectal problems. — by MedlinePlus

4. It is also recommended that I take vitamins such as Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin E and Multivitamins.

After a week of treatment, my skin is getting better! I love that finally this time it actually works already. I’ve been suffering from this since August this year and I can’t put on make up because of this. Well, from time to time I can but it is still best not to put on anything that might irritate my face.

In addition, I also bought the following to add to my treatment.

Armada Post-Procedure Barrier Cream 50+
Opaque, ultra-gentle barrier cream and physical sun + light screen for ultra-sensitive or recovering skin.

This was recommended to me by the specialists because my face is turning red due to the skin problems. It says that it lessens the redness and it is ultra mild/sensitive. I was hesitant at first because the price is overwhelming. I’m not used to buy products that costs this much. However, for my skin’s sake I gave in. Hahaha! Besides, I can use this as my overall sunblock, right?

VMV Re-Everything Eye Serum
Instant, temporary tightening plus longer-term cellular renewal, anti-aging + antioxidant therapy. Firmer, less puffy, rejuvenated skin around/under eyes. Also for problem areas like the nasolabial area + skin around the lips.

I learned that I should start putting eye creams as early as now to fight the signs of aging. It was discussed during my Makeup basic seminar I attended a few weeks back. I was looking for a good eye cream and searched for reviews and recommendations online. I was convinced to try Nivea’s eye cream but decided to get this one instead since it was hypoallergenic. As much as possible, I want to treat my face first before trying out another products.

I got a free Ooh-La-Lash Mascara from VMV for purchasing products from them! Yehey!!!

Lastly, I bought myself a BB Cream from Maybelline! Hahaha! This, however was not mentioned by the dermatologist. I just wanted to try this since I read it from Animetric’s blog. She also recommended it since I told her that I have dry skin. True enough, it was affordable and easy to apply in my face. The Armada Post-Procedure cream somehow makes my face white since it is also a sunblock, so the BB cream helped balance my face color.

All in all, I am happy with my purchase even though it cost me a lot of money in one buying. I still can’t afford these items since I still don’t have income until December. Thank’s to BDO Credit Card’s promo: Buy Now, Pay Next Year! with 0%!!! Great Deal! (but be careful with buying coz you might max out your credit card because of this!)

Note: This is just to share what I used and did to solve my skin problem. In most cases, it depends person to person so if ever, it is still best to consult your dermatologist about your skin problems.

So how do you find my purchases? Do you think it was worth it? Share your thoughts below! ^_^
