Halloween (or Hallowe’en) is an annual holiday observed on October 31, which commonly includes activities such as trick-or-treating, attending costume parties, carving jack-o’-lanterns, bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.
The word Halloween is first attested in the 16th century and represents a Scottish variant of the fuller All-Hallows-Even (“evening”), that is, the night before All Hallows Day.Although the phrase All Hallows is found in Old English (ealra hālgena mæssedæg, mass-day of all saints), All-Hallows-Even is itself not attested until 1556. — by Wikipedia
I have my own share of Halloween activities as well as Trick or Treating. Last year, I celebrated Halloween in Sydney, Australia! I was on a business trip that time and my friend invited me to join their Halloween event. I now wonder what’s happening there these days. It was my first time to actually go to a costume themed party! And I must say, they really put effort on what to wear during the party. Good thing, my ever artistic “relatives” gave me an idea to wear. Hahaha!
This year, since I’m unemployed, I didn’t get a chance to be part of an office Halloween celebration. So I just enjoyed the pictures that was taken in my previous employer. There were kids really dressed up for the occasion! They are sooooo cute! Hahaha! I left the company where some of them are just babies and now they are part of the office’s event. (sa mga panahong ito, na-mimiss ko sila..)
These pictures were captured by my colleague Marc Kasilag who is taking his photography skills seriously. Haha! ^_^
You can see the whole set here: Trick or Treat 2011
However, I’m not sure if it can be accessed publicly. I apologize to those who can’t see the whole set. At least you’ve seen a glimpse of it.
Another cute photo is from another colleague. This family pic is so cute!!! Hahaha! Love it! ^_^
These kids and of course their parents are now making an effort preparing and finding costumes for the event. Unlike in my childhood, I can’t remember wearing those during Halloween. I just now that we go to the cemetery and visit our dead relatives, that’s it. No costume parties like this! Hahaha!
I know a lot of you would also want to watch horror movies or tell spooky stories during this times! I for one loves to watch TV shows like “Magandang Gabi Bayan” where they feature true horror stories. It amazes me when people get to see and feel other elements of this world. Luckily I’m not one of those people coz I might die of heart attack if I can see dead people.. Yikes!
And now, to get you into the Halloween Spirit, Bactidol created a twist in some of the scenes of the famous horror movies like “The Ring” and “Psycho“.

Happy Halloween everyone! ^_^
I hope, besides all the costumes and after the trick or treating, we won’t forget to pause for a while and say a little prayer for all who already departed this world.
