Yummy Friday: Five Cows Resto and Ice Cream Bar

I have a lot of pending entries under the food category. I’m thinking on how I can utilize my blog to feature anything about food. My blog is not solely for food entries so I can’t figure out how to do it. Luckily, I found Patty Laurel’s Travel Tuesday my inspiration. I decided to dedicate my Friday for all food related posts and Wednesday for my travels.

I’ll start with the most recent food trip: Five Cows Resto and Ice Cream Bar.

I’m supposed to write a little background of the resto but all I can find in the internet is that it is owned by Chef Eugene Raymundo. I didn’t find anything that tells me why he opened it.

I’ve tried this resto years back with my college friends but never did I feature them on my blog. Yesterday, I was with my friend, Kath (yes, we have exactly the same name except for our last name) for some bonding time. We decided to go to Trinoma after I went to Human Heart Nature in Commonwealth. She wanted to have some ice cream so we asked the concierge for restaurants/stalls since both of us are not familiar with the place.

The concierge only gave us these options: Sebastians, Pinoy Sorbetes, Fruity Froyo and White Hat. Later we realized, there are still ice cream stations such as Dairy Queen, Fruits in Ice Cream, Golden Spoon and of course Five Cows.

I told Kath that I like the ice cream cakes and tried some before. We opened the menu and viola! A colorful display of ice cream, cakes and their urban treats! We want to order all but for sure we can’t finish everything so we just took some pictures! Hahaha!

Finally, we ordered a Belgian Chocolate Mint Ice Cream (Php 195).

and a slice of Brazo de Mercedes (Php 135).

They both taste really delicious but I raved the slice of brazo more than the ice cream (the flavor is a sure ball since we both love mint ice creams). Seriously? A definitely must try! The ice cream layers with the meringue on top is such a good combination. And oh, you should try swiping a small amount of caramel before you eat it and it’s heaven! Haha! 🙂

The next time I’ll be there, will try another cake! It’s a bit pricey though but I can spare some for a sweet delight! 😉
