Our family’s first day of Palawandering! Hahaha. =)
We came in 2 batches since I can’t book 17 pax online. I even made a mistake while booking only to get the lowest fare price. Eventually, I learned that all I have to do is call someone from the airline’s call center and I can book more than 10pax at the same time. It’s lesson learned for me.
Anyways, first batch was the AirPhilExpress passengers and then the next one was the PhilippineAirlines passengers. I was included in the first batch, just for information. :p
The van from the Liberty Pension was already waiting for us so the first batch went to the pension house already. We waited for the 2nd batch to arrive. It was around an hour or so before the arrived the pension house.
We went straight to Badjao Seafront Restaurant for our lunch. Since we can’t fit in one van, some of us (that includes me) took the tricycle going to the place.
We had our sumptuous meal with the good view of the sea. It was far more beautiful compared before.
After lunch, we’re on to our first adventure of the day, the City Tour! Our first stop, same as before is the Crocodile Farm.
It was my first time to see a bear cat considering I went to a number of zoos already.
After the wildlife tour, the fear factor challenge! Holding a live croc! Hahaha! ^_^
Next stop would be the Iwahig Prison & Penal Farm but according to our tour guide, the new management do not allow tourists to get in for security and safety purposes. So they just had their pictures taken infront with the statue of Lady Justice.
So on to our next stop… Mitra’s Ranch! It was my first time to appreciate the view and the place since the last time I was in Palawan, the rain is pouring hard so it’s cloudy and you really can’t see anything in the place. Good thing this year, the sun is rising up in the sky! Also, there was a new attraction in the place, it was the Zipline! (this is getting popular in the Philippines and seems like all tourists spots have these.)
Well, guess who were the brave ones who tried it? The Girls! Imagine? The boys didn’t even bother to try it, well except for Marc. :p
While we are preparing (briefing and stuff), the others were chilling out within the area. It seems like we were the first ones who tried it that day coz nobody’s there when we arrived. The zipline costs Php 500/pax. It’s not that steep compared to the one in Danao Adventure in Bohol.
The first to zipline was Alex, then Grace and then Me. Marc followed after some time. ๐
The zipline though not steep, has 3 posts. So compared to the common ziplines that cost the same but only takes less than a minute or so, the zipline in Palawan seems to make this as their advantage. After the first zip, you are going to climb a tall tree which I think a bit harder than zipping. It’s very steep that when you climb the next step, it is almost touching your face. Hahaha! For the 3rd zip, it’s just a shorter line compared to the others, just to help you be closer to the starting point.
However, after the 3rd zip, you are going to do a bit of a trekking to go back to the 1st post. That’s the tiring part for us I guess. Hehe. :p
The next stop would be the Binuatan Creations were you can see the Palawan weavers. They even let us try how to weave. Beside the weaving area is a store where they sell their products. There was a wide range of colorful stuffs like bags, purse, table runners and placemats.
The last stop was in Baker’s Hill where we ate our merienda. We were already tired when we reached this place. Maybe because of the energy we had in Mitra’s Ranch. Well, Filipino street foods are the best!
We didn’t have more time to go down and enter some of the places like the Cathedral, the Plaza Cuartel and the Palawan bay walk. We just had a running tour for that, meaning the van is running while we were just looking from the inside.
Finally, we ended the day having dinner in Kinabuch’s Grill and Bar restaurant. We all took a tricycle when we went back to the pension house. It was a tiring but fun day for all of us.
