My New Multi-Use Tripod

Last year, I was so happy knowing “Kathmandu” store in Canberra and Melbourne. Not only it sounds like my name but they really sell good stuff! I always love travel related stores where you can find cool things that will help you pack light when travelling. Though I always go inside those stores, I seldom buy one because of the prices. I usually check the price and develop some budget plans for me to be able to afford something.

Thankfully, when I visited Sydney I knew about “Kathmandu” store which is very similar to Northface and Columbia. They are on sale during the Holiday season.  Last year I got a travel kit for $9 which is normally priced at $20. This year, I saw the store in Bondi Junction so I got all excited. They’re selling stuff in 60% off the retail price. I wanted to buy a passport holder that I really want since I saw my best friend’s Samsonite passport holder. However, I literally forced myself not to buy since I don’t actually need it. I just want it. (But I promised myself if ever I get an extra cash on my last day, I’ll definitely buy that!)

Instead, I got something I really need. A multi-use tripod!!! It’s 60% off so I only got it for $16. Not bad, right? (I just checked the website today at it just cost $9. Boo!! So much with being thrifty!) I lost my gorillapod this year and I can’t buy a new one since it’s expensive in the Philippines. I just got it in Php 700 in Japan during my business trip. Now, again during my business trip I got myself a good tripod. It’s roughly Php 700 too when converting AU$ to Peso.

Multi-Use Tripod by Kathmandu

This multi-use tripod can be use in 3 ways:

1. The legs of the tripod is similar to that of the Gorillapod but you really can’t twist it as much as the gorillapod can do. But it’s pretty much steady so it’s okay.

2. You can actually make use of a water bottle and pretend that the tripod is the bottle cap. Pretty cool huh?

3. There is also a screw mechanism on the side of the tripod where you can attach it in a vehicle window so the window becomes your instant tripod.

I really love this purchase plus it’s Kathmandu. Haha! I should be paid by Kathmandu for this advertisement. Just kidding. =)
