A month ago, my friends who passed the Medical Board Exams had their Oath Taking in PICC.
Since my boyfriend’s sister, Michelle was one of them I joined their family and was hoping to get a photo with my new Doctor friends.
The event started late as usual. Why does “Filipino time” is equivalent to being late?! Anyways, I was able to get inside since I looked like one of the oath takers. The tickets were limited so sorry for disguising as a Med student.
Anyway, the moment I saw the stage I felt nostalgic. It is where I graduated 5 years ago but now I was there to witness the New Physicians to take their oath of helping save the lives of many. I thought that the event will not last that long since they will just do their oath and it’s done. I was a bit bored since there were long speeches of notable people in the field of Medicine. However, I loved the speech of the top 1 in the Medical Board Exams. She was from UST proud to say. I really felt her sincerity and her passion to take up Med School and become a doctor. I believe everyone sitting there that took the oath have the same sentiments as hers. She believes that being a doctor is a privilege and I agree with her.
After all the speeches and recognition awards (UST took home the highest passing rate this year), the distribution of PRC License begins and the riot unfolds. This was I believe the worst part of the ceremony. Seeing from afar, you don’t actually believe that those were doctors. The system was bad though, I can’t blame them.
While they were busy waiting to claim their license, I was busy looking for my friends. Good enough I saw majority of them except for Ghiena. 🙁 I was hoping to see her there since we haven’t met for almost 10 years now. I saw her from afar but when I get to that place, she was no where to find.
After the event, we went to the Singing Cook and Waiters to celebrate Michelle’s success! However, we didn’t enjoyed the food. I would never recommend it to my friends too.
