2010 August Travel: Singapore Day 4 – Sentosa Tour

Our last day adventure in Singapore is Sentosa Tour.

This was our last day so we have to maximize everything before 9pm. Our flight was at 12mn so we have to be in the airport by 10.30-11pm.

Anyway, here’s what we did in our last day. First stop, Toast Box in Vivo City. We want to taste the authentic Kaya Toast in Yakun but we didn’t have the time to do that so we settled in Toast Box (which by the way is also located in Trinoma mall basement, beside BreadTalk).

I ordered number 1 on the list, the Traditional Kaya Toast ($4.25). It is a complete set of bread, egg and coffee/milo. I preferred Milo by the way. I liked the sweet jam inside the bread. Roocie and Reg also liked what they ordered. We had different orders but everything is great. I’ll try to order in Trinoma and check if it tastes the same. Also, you have the option for the eggs. You can have it hard boiled or sunny side up. I preferred the hard boiled eggs.

After eating our breakfast at 11am, we went straight to the Cable Car ticketing area. It was a bit far from the main mall and will take you for about 5-10mins of walking before you arrive in the ticketing area. We arrived there and decided to get the one-way trip to Resorts World ($24) thinking that round trip means going to and from the Resorts World. We thought wrongly because round trip means you get to see all the stations of the Cable Car. We didn’t get the chance to see Mt. Faber since we only got the one way trip. So that’s when we realized why the fare difference is only $2. The round trip fare costs $26. We’re already inside the Jewel box so we just enjoyed the scenery.

The experience was very similar to that of HongKong’s Cable Car ride in Ngong Pin. All the cable cars are colored black. According to Roocie, who already experienced Singapore’s cable car before the renovation, the ride was far more better now than of before because of the smooth transition from one tower to another. You don’t get the feeling that it might fall to the ground. Not that exciting though but nice view.

We got the map of the Resorts World the moment we got off the Cable Car. It was very sunny that time and it’s also 12 noon! We decided to stroll first before we take the Luge and Sky Ride. By the way, we bought the ticket in the same ticketing booth where we bought the Cable Car. The Luge and Sky Ride cost us $12 each.

We went to the Giant Merlion before going to the beach. It was really huge and it’s not white unlike the ones we saw on our first day.

After the Merlion, we rode the Beach Tram to Palawan Beach and took some pictures then rode the tram again back to the center station. We took another Beach Tram to Siloso Beach to take some pictures and then back to where the Sky Ride starting area was.

We don’t have any pictures from Sky Park and Luge since photography is not allowed. We didn’t get the souvenir photo since it costs $12. It’s quite pricey for us. Also, there is a locker inside Resorts World where you can leave your belongings while you’re inside the perimeter. It is convenient for travelers who are bringing their luggages or other stuff while visiting Sentosa.

Since it’s almost 4pm, we decided to go back to Vivo City and eat our lunch there. We have to meet Kim and Rizza in Lau Pa Sat by 7pm for our last dinner. We took the monorail from Resorts World going to Vivo City. When you’re inside the Sentosa, all the transportation is free of charge. Nice huh? ^__^

When we got to Vivo City, we ate in Burger King since we’re running out of budget already. We have to use our loose money since it was our last day already. We also bought something for Kim as our sign of gratitude for letting us stay in her room for 4 days. We gave her a new set of bed sheet with comforters. I hope she liked it.

Then we’re off to Lau Pa Sat for dinner. It was similar to Glutton’s Bay but the area is circular and a lot bigger than Glutton’s bay. There is also a band singing in the middle and we all think that the performers are all Filipinos. Kim confirmed that most of the performers there are Filipinos. We really are talented people but most of us needs to be away from the Philippines to work and earn money.

Anyway, I was surprised to see that there was a Tapa King stall in Singapore. It has a big serving and foreigners are ordering from them too. Cool. ^_^

We waited for Rizza before we went back to Kim’s place for our final packing. We are a bit late on our schedule but we managed to be in the Airport on time. Good thing there was no traffic in Singapore.

It was a long and tiring 4 days but was all worth it. We are back to reality the moment we step inside our own offices to report for work.

Thanks Kim, Darwin, Wally and Rizza for accommodating us and making our stay in Singapore fun and memorable. Until our next adventure together! CSC Rules!!! ^__^
