I’ve always wanted to go to Little Tokyo but am not that familiar with the streets in Makati. Luckily, my God-sister Hannah wanted to celebrate her birthday in Little Tokyo. We located the streets in CitiAtlas map and found our way to Little Tokyo. It’s really beside Makati Cinema Square.
The place was great, you feel like you’re in Japan somehow. The food, the people, the sound and the stores! It’s Japan in the the Philippines! We were so excited to eat lunch but disappointed when we entered the place. Majority of the stores opens at 5:00pm until around 2:00am. There were only 3 stores available and one store is unique from another. One restaurant serves okonomiyake but doesn’t serve gyoza, the other store is vice versa. We opt to eat where gyoza was served.
We ordered edamame, gyoza, miso ramen and an okonomiyaki. The food was great, authentic Japanese even their iced tea. I remembered when I first tasted their iced tea. I thought it’s similar with the iced teas served here in the Philippines, but I was wrong. It was literally tea with ice.
Beside the restaurant is a Japanese Store called “Chotto Stop“. Here you can buy Japanese seasonings, teas, juice, breadings, gyoza and other Japanese stuff. They are also selling Japanese ice cream but the one I like is not available so I didn’t dare to taste other ice creams.
Finally, we tasted real Japanese food. It’s cheaper than going to other fancy Japanese restaurants.
