2011 Highlights: FMA Alumni Homecoming – Detailed Version

The other day, I was so disappointed because I thought I lost my pictures, since I remembered the application Recuva by Piriform, I was able to recover deleted images from my memory card. Now, Here’s the detailed version of last year’s alumni homecoming.

It started with a prayer by one of the faculty members and welcoming introduction by our all time favorite hosts: Aiza Pagkalinawan and Apple Recaña.

Our theme for the night was “X Marks the Spot”. It automatically makes one think of a treasure map that … [ Continue reading 2011 Highlights: FMA Alumni Homecoming – Detailed Version ]

Run, Jump, Make Noise but Do Not Sin. – St. John Bosco

As much as I want to share with you many photos taken during the FMA Alumni Homecoming held in Don Bosco School, Sta. Mesa last December 11, 2011, I can’t. I accidentally formatted my memory stick confident enough that I’ve transferred the pictures in my PC. Unfortunately, I was wrong. My bad. I only get to save the pictures stored in the other camera. *sigh*

My only batch mate that attended the homecoming: Reeva Sumulong and Music Teacher: Mr. Pineda

It was my first … [ Continue reading 2011 Highlights: FMA Alumni Homecoming ]

Misa de Gallo :: Simbang Gabi :: 9 Mornings

Simbang Gabi at Binondo Church by En Route

Misa de Gallo in Spanish, Simbang Gabi in Tagalog and 9 Mornings or Mass at Dawn in English is a very popular Filipino tradition during the Christmas Season. Ideally, Catholic Churches celebrates mass at around 4:00 in the morning for 9 days until the day before Christmas day. It starts every morning starting December 16th. However, these days we are already adopting Simbang Gabi at night time to give a chance to those who can’t wake up that early to attend the Christmas … [ Continue reading Misa de Gallo :: Simbang Gabi :: 9 Mornings ]

A Day in Grace To Be Born Shelter

Yesterday was the moment I’ve been waiting for to give the donations for my birthday project this year. It has been postponed for weeks now since we can’t find a schedule that fits us all.

To give you a brief background how this activity transpires, I started a project on my birth month which was last September. This project hopes to extend and inspire people to share their blessings to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. With this, I hope that I can make this a lifelong commitment to contribute to communities that needs help. To know more, you … [ Continue reading A Day in Grace To Be Born Shelter ]

Happy Halloween 2011

Halloween (or Hallowe’en) is an annual holiday observed on October 31, which commonly includes activities such as trick-or-treating, attending costume parties, carving jack-o’-lanterns, bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.

The word Halloween is first attested in the 16th century and represents a Scottish variant of the fuller All-Hallows-Even (“evening”), that is, the night before All Hallows Day.Although the phrase All Hallows is found in Old English (ealra hālgena mæssedæg, mass-day of all saints), All-Hallows-Even is itself not attested until 1556. — by Wikipedia

A Birthday Surprise

thumbnail

A couple of weeks ago, I planned a surprise birthday for Gen and Zeny. However, due to some unforseen schedule conflict, Gen’s birthday was postponed to another weekend.

Zeny’s Surprise Party in Casa Armas

After the success of Zeny’s birthday, she then took the responsibility of being in charge of Gen’s surprise party. Little did I know, they were planning a double surprise party for Gen and me! To cut the story short, I was indeed amazed with their effort even though I specifically informed Coe not to plan a party for me since I’m doing a … [ Continue reading A Birthday Surprise ]

2011 June Travel: China – Shanghai

Our next stop in China is Shanghai. Unlike Beijing, where we saw old culture of China, Shanghai is the modern part of China.

I booked a flight from Beijing to Shanghai via China Eastern in the internet. Good thing I chose China Eastern over China Southern. Our guide told us that China Eastern is better than China Southern. It’s like their Cebu Pacific flights that fly domestic destinations.

We arrived in Shanghai late afternoon and it’s raining. The … [ Continue reading 2011 June Travel: China – Shanghai ]

2011 June Travel: China Day 2 – Beijing : Great Wall of China

On our 2nd day in Beijing, our highlight for the day would be the Great Wall of China and Ming’s Tomb. But before that, let me share what had transpired throughout the day. Similar to day 1′s activities, we had stop overs to different shops or site before we go to our main attraction. For today, we went to the Jade Museum first before going to the Great Wall and Ming’s Tomb.

The guide informed us of the benefits of Jade as well as the traditions … [ Continue reading 2011 June Travel: China Day 2 – Beijing : Great Wall of China ]
