2014 May Travel: Perth, Western Australia

Last week, I had the privilege to visit Perth, the capital of Western Australia. I had some time to see and roam around the city after work hours. I will share some of the things you can do if ever you visit the city for a limited time.

One thing unique about Perth is that it’s clean and quiet. The only time I get to see people around is during lunch time. After 5.30pm most of the stores are closed. Luckily, some of the pubs and restaurants are still open where I had my dinner.

One my first day, I went to the Murray St and Hay St Mall since I got off the office quarter to 5pm. I was able to put my bags in the hotel since it’s located in the center of CBD. I stayed in Adina Hotel, Barrack Street.

Here are the things I saw nearby that I can easily visit: The malls, the train station which is the Perth Underground and the Bell Tower.

The next day after work, I had more time so I went some place that requires more walking. I went to the Western Australia Museum, State Library and in Northbridge where they usually have sunset cinema for free. Unlike in NSW where we pay for the Sunset Cinema experience. Hahaha!

On my last day, before my flight. I had some time in the morning to see Perth once again. I went to the morning mass at St Mary’s Cathedral in the city then I took the bus 37 going to Kings Park and Botanic Gardens.

It was one good day for a walk and I wished I had more time to see the whole of Kings Park. It’s very similar to Sydney’s Botanic Gardens but the view of Perth is outstanding! I bet it also has an amazing view at night.
